A monitor can save the people behind the posts it finds straight into a lead list, so the authors are ready to score, enrich and contact without copying anyone by hand.
Turn it on for a new monitor
- In Signals, type your keywords and press Watch.
- In Watch for new results, under Save people to a list, pick a list or New list and name it.
- Authors is selected. Keep it, and add Commenters or Likers if you want them too. See Save commenters and likers.
- Optional:
- Signals only: save only the authors of posts flagged as signals. See Signals only or all posts.
- ICP matches only: save only people whose headline matches the monitor's ICP. See Only people who match your ICP.
- Press Create monitor.
Turn it on for an existing monitor
Select the monitor on the Monitors tab and open Signal & capture settings (the settings icon). The same Save people to a list fields are there, and changes save as you make them. Pick Don't save to turn saving off.
This works for keyword post, person and company monitors. Event monitors don't save people; watch an event instead. See Watch an event. Job monitors can save the hiring companies to a company list instead, with Auto-capture hiring companies.
What's saved
Each new author is added to the list as a lead, with where they came from: the monitor and the post. When the post was a signal, the signal comes along too, so you can see why they're on the list and write openers from their post.
People already in the list aren't added twice. People on your exclusion lists aren't saved.
Save authors by hand
To save authors from posts a monitor already found:
- On a monitor's feed, select posts and press Save N authors to list, or press Save all authors to list.
- On a signal in the inbox, press Add to list to save that one author.
Next steps for saved authors
- Score them against your ICP to see who's really a fit. Headlines say little; scoring checks the person and the company. See Score leads against your ICP.
- Find emails for the good fits. See Find emails for a lead list.
- Write openers that start from their post. See Write openers for a lead.
Use one list per monitor, or per ICP. A list mixing several audiences is harder to score and harder to write openers for.
