Score leads against your ICP

Updated Oct 20263 min read

Scoring checks every lead or company in a list against your ICP's criteria. Each row gets a verdict and a percentage, with a reason for every criterion, so you can see why a lead fits or doesn't. The scores land in an ICP column you can sort and filter.

What you need

  • The Growth plan or higher (credit packs don't unlock it).
  • An ICP in Targeting with Company Fit, Person Fit or both, and any disqualifiers. See Write good ICP criteria.
Tip

Mark the criteria that matter most as Important (the star). An important criterion counts twice in the score.

Test first

On the ICP's Test scoring tab, run a test on up to 6 people or companies from one of your lists, or paste LinkedIn links. Tests are free, and scoring the list later reuses their results. Read the reasons and adjust the criteria if a verdict looks wrong.

Score a list

From Targeting:

  1. Select the ICP and choose Score a list.
  2. Pick a lead list or a company list. Company lists need Company Fit.
  3. For a lead list, choose what to Score on:
    • Company and person: the full score, with both parts.
    • Company only: cheaper and faster, because each company is checked once for all its leads. Good when the list's roles were already chosen by filters.
    • Person only: for ICPs about the role, whatever the company.
  4. Check the count and the most it can cost, then press Score.

From a list: open Add data → Score ICP…, pick the ICP and use the Score tab.

Scoring runs in the background, and verdicts appear in the list as they're ready. Closing the tab doesn't stop it. Follow progress, Stop or Resume on the ICP's Scored lists tab.

Verdicts

VerdictMeans
Strong fit70% or more
Partial50–69%
Low fitUnder 50%
Needs dataMost of the important criteria couldn't be checked from what's available
DisqualifiedA Not a fit criterion was met. Scored 0%

For leads, the score combines the company part and the person part. Company lists are scored on Company Fit only. See What the verdicts mean.

Reading the reasons

Hover a verdict in the ICP column for a summary, or click it for the full card. Each criterion shows its status and the reason behind it:

✓Met
~Partly met
?No data
✗Not met
–Doesn't apply

A criterion marked Not public couldn't be shown by anything public, so it isn't counted.

What it costs

Credits per row
First score15
First score with your own AI key5
Re-scoring after you edit the ICPHalf: only the criteria you changed are checked again
Rows already scored with this version, or after changing starsfree

A company checked for many leads is charged once when you score on the company only. Leads on your exclusion lists are skipped and not charged. Lower the price with your own AI key.

After scoring

  • Filter the list to strong and partial fits, then find their emails, so you don't pay for emails you won't use.
  • Write openers only for good fits: the opener setup can skip leads scored Low fit or Disqualified. See Write openers for a lead.
  • Found leads the ICP turned down but you like? Select them and choose Suggest ICP to draft a new ICP from what they share. See Suggest an ICP from rows you like.
