Post and event watchers save people as they engage, and each person found is a charge. A popular post can bring in hundreds of people in a day. The monthly credit limit makes sure a watcher never spends more than you planned.
What it covers
| Watcher | Charged within the limit |
|---|---|
| Post watcher | Each new liker or commenter found: 10 |
| Event watcher | Each new person who likes, comments on or reposts the event's post: 10. Attendees are free |
The same person found again within 30 days is free. Emails found with Find emails automatically are charged separately, at 20 each.
Keyword monitors that save commenters and likers have their own monthly limit, set on the monitor. See Save commenters and likers.
Set the limit
When you create a watcher, the limit is under Advanced → Monthly limit (post watchers) or Monthly limit (event watchers). The default is 4,000 credits, about 400 people. The event dialog shows about how many profiles your limit covers.
Each watcher has its own limit. Three post watchers at the default can spend up to 12,000 credits a month in all.
Follow the spend
Each watcher's row on the Monitors tab shows this month's spend against its limit, for example 1,250 / 4,000 cr this month. Every charge also appears in Usage history, one line per watcher per month.
When the limit is reached
The watcher pauses and shows Paused: monthly limit reached (continues next month, or raise it). You also get a notification. Then:
- Wait: it continues by itself when the next month starts.
- Raise the limit: press Resume on the watcher. You're asked for a new monthly limit (twice the current one is suggested), and it continues now. People it couldn't save while paused are read again when it continues.
A post watcher still ends 7 days after it started, paused or not.
When you run out of credits
If your balance can't cover the next person, the watcher pauses with Paused: out of credits (continues after you add credits). It continues by itself once you add credits or your monthly credits renew.
Choosing a limit
- Small, targeted posts: the default is plenty.
- Viral posts: thousands of likers are common. Lower the limit, or save Commenters only: commenters are usually more engaged than likers.
- Several watchers: add up their limits and compare with your monthly credits.
Turn on ICP matches only when it's offered. People whose headline doesn't match your ICP are skipped, so the same limit goes further.
