A capture saves the people from a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search into a lead list, with their name, title, company and profile. It runs in the background, and it can find their work emails as it goes.
Before you start
- Connect a LinkedIn account in Settings. For Sales Navigator searches it needs Sales Navigator. See Connect your LinkedIn account.
- Build and check your search in Sales Navigator or LinkedIn first. A capture saves exactly what the search returns.
Capture a search
- Copy the search URL from your browser's address bar.
- Open Leads. On the Paste URL tab, paste it into LinkedIn URL. filtrat shows that it detected a People Search.
- Press Find leads.
- Check the preview: how many people the search returns and the First results.
- Under How many people to capture?, pick an amount (100, 500, 1,000, 2,500 or All), or use the slider.
- Choose the options:
- Find emails automatically: finds each person's work email after they're saved. You can also tick Resolve catch-all domains.
- Skip people already in your lists: people who are already in any of your lists aren't added again and don't count toward the amount.
- Under Save to new list, give the list a name.
- Press Capture N people.
The capture starts and you're taken to the new list. People appear as they're saved. You can close the page; you'll get a notification when it's done.
To add people to a list you already have, open the list and use Add data → Add leads. People already in it are skipped.
Build the search in filtrat
Instead of pasting a URL, use the Search filters tab on the Leads page to set filters such as title, seniority, company and location. With a Sales Navigator account all filters are available; a regular LinkedIn account searches by keyword only.
How big a search can be
| Search | Most people per search |
|---|---|
| Sales Navigator people search | 2,500 |
| Regular LinkedIn people search | 1,000 |
A Sales Navigator search over 2,500 people is split into smaller searches automatically, so you can capture all of it. See Searches over 2,500 people.
What it costs
| Cost | |
|---|---|
| Saving people from a search | free |
| Each email found | 20 |
| Each email confirmed on a catch-all domain (with Resolve catch-all domains) | 25 in all |
| Not found | free |
Catch-all domains. With Resolve catch-all domains on, an email found behind a catch-all domain costs 5 on top of the found email: 20 + 5 = 25. The 25 are held when the search starts. If the email isn't found, they're all given back, so a not-found costs nothing. If the email is found on a domain that didn't need resolution, the extra 5 are given back and you pay 20.
The start button shows the most the emails can cost, and the final charge is usually lower. If your credits run out, email finding stops where it is and the people stay in the list; after you add credits, run Find emails on the list for the rest.
Follow your captures
The Capture jobs tab on the Leads page lists your captures with their progress, for example Capturing: 640 of 1,000. Inside a list, a bar at the bottom shows the same. A capture can pause when an account reaches its daily cap; it continues by itself. See Daily caps and pacing.
Not sure about a search? Capture 100 people first, look at who you got, then add the rest to the same list with Add leads. People already captured are skipped.
