Connect your LinkedIn account

Updated Oct 20263 min read

filtrat runs LinkedIn searches, captures, company matching and signals through a LinkedIn account you connect. You can connect a regular LinkedIn account or one with Sales Navigator.

Email verification, the email finder and domain reports don't need LinkedIn. You can use them without connecting anything.

Before you start

  • Use an account you own and sign in to regularly.
  • For Sales Navigator searches, the account needs an active Sales Navigator subscription.
  • Keep your phone nearby: LinkedIn may ask you to confirm the sign-in.

Connect with your LinkedIn sign-in

  1. Open Settings and expand LinkedIn Accounts. Press + Connect another account (or Connect on the Leads or Companies page if you have no account yet).
  2. In Connect LinkedIn Account, stay on the Login tab.
  3. Enter the Email and Password you use for LinkedIn.
  4. Press Connect.
  5. If LinkedIn asks for verification, a Verification Required window opens:
    • Approve the sign-in in your LinkedIn mobile app, then press Check status, or
    • Enter the 6-digit code LinkedIn sent to your email or phone and press Verify.

Didn't get a code? Use Resend code or Try another way.

When the account appears in the list with its name, it's ready to use.

If you'd rather not enter your password, use the Cookie tab:

  1. Sign in to LinkedIn in your browser.
  2. Open your browser's developer tools, then the cookies stored for linkedin.com.
  3. Copy the value of the li_at cookie and paste it into li_at cookie value.
  4. For Sales Navigator, also copy the li_a cookie into li_a cookie (optional, for Sales Navigator).
  5. Press Connect.
Important

A LinkedIn cookie works like a signed-in session. Paste it only into filtrat, and don't share it. Signing out of LinkedIn in that browser ends the session, and you'll need to reconnect.

Your accounts in Settings

Each connected account shows:

ColumnWhat it shows
AccountThe LinkedIn name, an SN badge if Sales Navigator is available, and how it's connected (Credentials or Cookie auth).
Used todayHow much of today's cap has been used.
Daily capHow many LinkedIn actions filtrat may run on the account per day. Click the number to change it.
DefaultPress Make default to make this the preferred account.

Sales Navigator is detected automatically. You don't need to tell filtrat which account has it.

Daily caps

Each account's Daily cap limits how many search requests filtrat may run on it per day. One search request reads one page of up to 100 people. The default is 1,000. Opening individual profiles has its own, lower limit. Profile views, searches and monitor checks all count toward the cap; email finding never uses LinkedIn.

When an account reaches its cap, captures on it pause and carry on by themselves the next day. Lower the cap if you also use the account heavily yourself. See Daily caps and pacing.

More than one account

You can connect several accounts. Every connected account is shared with your workspace. When a job runs on Auto, filtrat picks the account with the most room left today; the default account breaks ties. Jobs that need Sales Navigator only use accounts with the SN badge.

When the session expires

LinkedIn ends sessions from time to time, for example after a password change. The account then shows Session expired, reconnect or Disconnected. Press Reconnect and repeat the steps above. Paused captures continue once the account is back. See Reconnect an expired session.
