Some people are worth following closely: a key account's decision-maker, an influencer in your market, a competitor's founder. Watching a profile tells you when they post, when they change jobs, and which posts they comment on or react to. The people behind those posts are often your next leads.
What you need
- The Pro plan or higher. Each part you turn on counts towards your plan's monitor limit.
- A connected LinkedIn account.
Start watching
- Copy the person's LinkedIn profile link.
- Open Signals, paste it into New monitor: keywords or LinkedIn URL and press Watch. Watch profile opens.
- Choose what to watch:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Watch for new posts | Get notified when they publish new content. Their posts can be judged as signals |
| Watch for job changes | Detect when they change role or company |
| Track reactions | People whose posts this person reacts to |
| Track comments | People whose posts this person comments on |
- For posts and job changes, choose how often to Check every, from 30 minutes to 2 days.
- For reactions and comments, choose the interval (Auto (starts frequent, slows over time) or a fixed one).
- Optional: Capture post authors to a list saves the people behind the posts they engage with as leads. Pick a New list or an Existing list, and turn on Find emails automatically if you want emails.
- Press Watch.
Two parts, two lifetimes
Watching posts and job changes creates a Person monitor. It keeps running until you pause or delete it. Pick the ICP its posts are judged for under Signal & capture settings. See Set up a signals monitor.
Tracking reactions and comments creates an activity watcher. It runs for 90 days, then ends by itself. Leads it saved stay in the list.
Why track engagement
What someone reacts to says a lot about their world. A sales leader who likes posts from other sales leaders, or comments on posts about a problem you solve, is pointing you at people with the same interests. With Capture post authors to a list, those authors are saved for you, with where they came from.
Track the activity of a happy customer's champion. The people they engage with are often their peers at similar companies: look-alikes, found for you.
Costs
Watching posts, job changes and activity is free. Finding emails is 20 per email found. For what each action costs, see How credits work.
