Watchers run on their own until they end or you stop them. You can pause one for a while, resume it, check it right away or remove it. None of these remove people already saved to the list.
Where to find the controls
Open Signals and the Monitors tab. Watchers are grouped under Watchers. Each row shows the watcher's type (post, event, group or activity), when it was last checked, the time left (post watchers) and this month's spend against its limit.
What each action does
| Action | What happens | The list | Monitor limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pause | Checks stop. Nothing new is saved or charged | Stays as it is | Still counts |
| Resume | Checks start again from where they stopped. If it paused at its monthly limit, you're asked for a new limit | New people are added again | Counts |
| Refresh now | Checks right away, at most once every 10 minutes | New people are added | No change |
| Delete | The watcher is removed | Stays as it is: saved people are kept | Frees a slot |
Group watchers waiting for approval show Check membership instead of Refresh now.
When to pause
- You're near your monthly credits and want to hold spending.
- A campaign is on hold.
- You want to clean up the list before more people arrive.
Remember that a paused watcher still counts towards your plan's monitor limit. To make room for a new one, delete a watcher instead. See Monitor limits by plan.
Paused by filtrat
A watcher can pause itself:
- Paused: monthly limit reached: it continues next month, or when you raise its limit. See The monthly credit limit.
- Paused: out of credits: it continues by itself after you add credits.
When watchers end on their own
| Watcher | Ends |
|---|---|
| Post watcher | 7 days after it started |
| Activity watcher | 90 days after it started |
| Event and group watchers | When you stop them |
A watcher also stops if its list is deleted.
Monitors work the same way
Keyword, person and company monitors have the same controls: pause and resume with the button on the row, and Check now, Edit monitor and Delete in the row's menu. Pausing keeps the monitor's settings and the signals it found.
