An ICP (ideal customer profile) describes one audience you sell to: the kind of company, the people you talk to there, and who is not a fit. filtrat suggests ICPs from your website so you don't start from a blank page. You keep the ones that match who really buys from you.
Suggestions are free.
Get suggestions
- Open Targeting.
- Under your company in the sidebar, choose Suggest ICPs. It reads your site and takes a moment.
- Up to three suggestions appear under the company, marked ✦ Suggested with a dashed outline.
If filtrat can't find a clear audience on your website, you'll see a message. Create an ICP yourself with New ICP instead.
Suggest ICPs shows only for a company with a website, and only while it has no open suggestions. Add or dismiss the current ones to get new ones.
Review one
Click a suggestion to open it. You'll see:
- Suggested from your website, with a line on why filtrat thinks this audience buys from you.
- The texts it would start from: Who you sell to, Who is not a fit, Who you talk to, Why they choose you, What triggers a purchase and Customer pains.
Ask yourself:
- Have you closed deals with companies like this? A suggestion that reads well but has never bought from you is a guess.
- Is the person right? Check Who you talk to against the titles that actually sign or champion your deals.
- Is anything missing from Who is not a fit, such as competitors, partners or company sizes you can't serve?
Add or dismiss
- Add this ICP saves it and turns its texts into the criteria filtrat scores on. It then appears in the sidebar as a regular ICP, and you can edit everything.
- Dismiss removes the suggestion.
Adding doesn't charge anything or score anything. It only creates the ICP.
After adding
- Read the criteria on the Definition tab. Remove or rephrase any that are vague. See Write good ICP criteria.
- Star the criteria that matter most. Important criteria count twice.
- Fill in What triggers a purchase and Customer pains if you'll use signals monitoring. See Add buying triggers and pains.
- Open Test scoring and run a free test on a few people before scoring a whole list.
Other ways to create an ICP
- New ICP under a company: write the texts yourself, then choose Create criteria.
- Suggest ICP on a lead or company list: select rows you like and get an ICP drafted from what they share. See Suggest an ICP from rows you like.
Delete an ICP
On the ICP, open ⋯ and choose Delete ICP. Its criteria and tests are deleted, and its scores are removed from every list it scored. A scoring run in progress stops, and nothing more is charged. This can't be undone, and credits already spent aren't refunded.
