Every exclusion list has a switch. Turn a list off to stop it applying for a while, without losing it; turn it back on when you need it again.
Switch a list
- Open Settings and go to Exclusion lists.
- Use the switch on the list. It reads On or Off.
A list can be switched once it has finished reading its file.
What happens when you switch
Off
- Captures, searches, email finding, scoring and exports stop using the list.
- Leads and companies in your lists that were marked Excluded only because of this list are unmarked and available again.
- The list and its values are kept.
On
- The list applies to all your work again.
- Leads and companies already in your lists that match are marked Excluded again.
It takes a moment to update the marks in large lists.
Important
Switching a list off doesn't bring back people that captures skipped while it was on. They were never saved. Capture again if you need them.
When to turn a list off
- A client campaign where the rules change. An agency running campaigns for several clients can keep one list per client and turn on only the one that applies.
- Re-engaging old customers. Turn off your churned-customers list for a win-back campaign, then turn it back on.
- Checking the effect of a list. Turn it off to see how many leads it was excluding, then turn it back on.
Delete a list
Press the delete button on the list and confirm. The list and all its values are deleted, and leads it excluded become available again. This can't be undone; to use the list again, upload the file again.
Good habits
- One purpose per list: customers, competitors, do-not-contact. Switching then means exactly one thing.
- Name lists clearly, with a date if they're snapshots: Customers 2026-10.
- Keep do-not-contact requests always on. Never switch off a list of people who asked not to be contacted.
