Find emails for a file

Updated Oct 20263 min read

The bulk email finder looks up work emails for every person in a file. It runs in the background and gives you a results table you can filter and export.

Prepare your file

Limit
File typesCSV or Excel (.xlsx)
File sizeUp to 10 MB
RowsUp to 100,000 per job

The first row must hold the column names. Each person needs:

  • A name: one full-name column, or separate first-name and last-name columns.
  • Where they work: a company domain or website column, a LinkedIn profile URL column, or both.

Optional columns that improve results: company name and country.

Start a job

  1. Open Email finder → Bulk CSV.
  2. Drop your file on the upload area, or click it to browse.
  3. In Map columns, check or pick each column:
    • Full name column, or First name column and Last name column
    • Domain column and/or LinkedIn URL column
    • Company name column (optional) and Country column (optional)
  4. Check the preview of the first rows.
  5. Optional: tick Resolve catch-all domains to confirm addresses on catch-all domains (5 more per email it confirms).
  6. Press Start search.

Columns you don't need can stay on None (skip). Each column can be mapped once.

If your file has LinkedIn URLs

A dialog asks Use the LinkedIn profiles? Looking people up on LinkedIn finds their current company, so the finder can also search where they work now. Choose who is looked up:

OptionWhat happens
Only people not found on your domain (recommended)Each row is searched on the domain in your file first. Only the people not found there are looked up.
Everyone with a LinkedIn URLEveryone gets their current job and work history in the results.
Don't look up LinkedIn profilesOnly the domains in your file are searched. No lookup credits.

A profile lookup costs 10 when a profile is found. It doesn't use your connected LinkedIn account. Then press Start finding emails.

Follow the job

The job page shows progress, for example Finding emails: 1,200 of 5,000 · 860 found. With LinkedIn lookups it runs in two steps. You can close the page; the job keeps running. You can run one finder job at a time.

The status chips filter the table: Found, Not found, Skipped and Errors. Use the search box to find a name, company, domain or email.

Export and follow-up

  • Export CSV downloads the results; with filters applied, it exports only the matching rows.
  • Resume (N skipped) finishes rows skipped because your credits ran out or the job was stopped.
  • Re-find selected or Re-find into a new job… searches chosen rows again in a new job.
  • Retry this search on a row searches that person again.

What it costs

  • 20 per email found; 25 when a catch-all address was confirmed.
  • Not found and skipped rows are free.
  • A person you found at the same domain in the last 180 days comes back free.
  • LinkedIn profile lookups: 10 per profile found; free again for the same person within 30 days.

Catch-all domains. With Resolve catch-all domains on, an email found behind a catch-all domain costs 5 on top of the found email: 20 + 5 = 25. The 25 are held when the search starts. If the email isn't found, they're all given back, so a not-found costs nothing. If the email is found on a domain that didn't need resolution, the extra 5 are given back and you pay 20.

Tip

Start with 50–100 rows. You'll see your found rate and cost before running the whole file.
