Once a sequencer is connected, you can send leads from any lead list into it. Sending is free.
Send a list
- Open a list under Leads.
- To send only some leads, tick them first.
- Press Add data, then Send to sequencer.
- Choose the tool. Tools you haven't connected yet show Connect, which takes you to API & Integrations.
- Choose where the leads go: an existing campaign, list or tag (search by name), or a new one. A new one is named after your lead list; you can change the name.
- Under Leads, pick Selected leads or All leads in this list. Filters on the list don't apply here, so select the leads if you want to send only those.
- Under Fields, tick the extra columns to send (see below), then press Send to tool.
The send runs in the background. You can close the window; you'll be told when it's done.
What's sent
Each tool's own fields are always filled from the lead: name, title, company, email and LinkedIn URL, plus what the tool supports, such as location, headline or website. Only an email filtrat found is sent as the lead's email.
Every other column of your list, such as industry, ICP score or an opener, can go along as a custom field or variable. Tick the ones you want. Variables use the column name, for example {{industry}} or {{opener_1}}, so you can use them in your templates.
| Tool | Extra columns go as |
|---|---|
| HeyReach | Custom fields |
| Instantly | Custom variables (LinkedIn URL, location and headline always go this way too) |
| Smartlead | Custom fields (title and headline go as job_title and headline) |
| lemlist | Variables (headline and location always go as headline and location) |
| Reply.io | Custom fields; ones Reply.io doesn't have yet are created |
| Snov.io | The Snov.io custom field you pick for each column |
| Salesforge | Custom variables |
Leads that are skipped
Some tools need things a lead may not have. The window tells you how many leads will be skipped before you send.
| Tool | A lead is skipped when it has no |
|---|---|
| HeyReach | LinkedIn URL |
| Instantly, Smartlead | |
| lemlist, Snov.io | Email and no LinkedIn URL |
| Reply.io, Salesforge | First name, or neither an email nor a LinkedIn URL |
The tool can refuse a lead too, for example one on its blocklist or do-not-contact list, or (in Smartlead) a lead that bounced or unsubscribed. Find emails for the list first to send as many leads as you can. See Find emails for a lead list.
Leads already in the tool
A lead that's already in the campaign or list isn't added twice: it's updated instead, and the result counts it as Updated.
The result
When the send finishes, you see how many leads were sent, updated and skipped, and the campaign or list they went to. If the send stops partway, the leads sent until then stay in your sequencer.
A new lemlist campaign has no steps yet, and a new Smartlead campaign is created as a draft. Nothing goes out until you set it up in that tool. lemlist and Snov.io take leads one at a time, so large lists take a few minutes there.
