Besides the status, every verification tells you whether an address is a role address or comes from a disposable email service. These flags come with the result at no extra cost.
Role-based addresses
A role address belongs to a team or a function rather than a person: info@, support@, sales@, admin@, hello@ and the like.
Where you see it:
- Single check: the Role-based address check reads Role address (info/admin/etc.) or Personal mailbox.
- Bulk results: a
roletag in the Flags column. - Downloaded CSV: the
rolecolumn isTrueorFalse.
A role address can still be Deliverable: the inbox exists and receives mail. It is charged like any other deliverable or invalid result (1).
What to do with role addresses
- Cold outreach: usually leave them out. Several people may read the inbox, nobody owns the reply, and these inboxes are more likely to mark unexpected mail as spam. If you have a name, use the email finder to get the person's own address.
- Customer or partner lists: keep them if that is how the company asked you to reach them.
Disposable addresses
A disposable address comes from a temporary email service: an inbox someone creates in seconds and abandons soon after. People use them to get past sign-up forms without giving a real address.
Where you see it:
- Single check: the Disposable domain check reads Blocklisted or Not on blocklist.
- Bulk results: a
disposabletag in the Flags column. - Downloaded CSV: the
disposablecolumn isTrueorFalse.
What to do with disposable addresses
Remove them from any list you plan to email. Even when the inbox exists today, it is unlikely to be read and will usually stop working soon.
If you collect sign-ups or form leads, check addresses as they arrive and reject disposable ones before they reach your CRM. See Real-time lead gate.
Filtering a bulk job by flag
In a bulk job, use the status pills to narrow the table, then sort or scan the Flags column. To remove flagged rows from your send list, download All results and filter the role and disposable columns in your spreadsheet.
Before a campaign, a quick rule that works for most lists: keep rows that are Deliverable, not disposable, and not role. Resolve the Catch-all rows before deciding on them.
